I’m David Morrison the busywriter, your advertising, marketing and sales copywriter. It’s my job to get the people who see your marketing excited enough to take action, and actually do something. I can consult on strategy and positioning if you need that. I’ve been working out of Toronto Canada for clients across Canada and the US for over 20 years.

I apprenticed as a copywriter in the ad business, starting in 1984. After working my way up, I went solo (free–lance) around 1993/4 and haven't looked back since.

To me, SELL isn’t a four letter word, like at some shops. SELLING is essential — it’s the basis of every business. So, if your message doesn’t sell, what’s it doing for you? And at what cost?

I’m not a new copywriter with some sort of course I’m trying to sell. I’m a traditional copywriter running my own business, and I write marketing, sales and advertising copy for my clients.

A Bit About Me

I have been a copywriter in the advertising industry, for graphic design firms, and for marketing companies. Sales managers have hired me to be a copywriter for their sales departments because I understand channels of distribution. I get hired for my written voice because I can apply marketing messages in sales situations without sounding like a fake.

The short and skinny on David the busywriter is this: 20+ yrs experience as a writer/art director, 20+ years experience in client services, multi–national ad agency training, broad client exposure, full production knowledge, accustomed to making changes, comfortable with deadlines.

Why the Creative Brief form? The creative brief is what the business of copywriting is all about. And in this site, the creative brief form is what I want you to fill out and send to me.

I want you to save time by using the form. And you will, because it walks you through the various considerations of a campaign/project without you ever having to create a formal document at all.
